If you are traveling by car from the center of Ruhuna, head towards the Galle Road (A2). After reaching the Galle Road, continue east until you reach the town of Gavaragiriya. Once in Gavaragiriya, look for signs directing you to Pahiyangala. Turn onto the road leading to the cave, which is located at coordinates 6.6488008 latitude and 80.2162704 longitude. Parking is available near the entrance. Note that depending on traffic, the journey may take around 30-45 minutes.

For those using public transportation, catch a bus from the main bus station in Ruhuna heading towards Gavaragiriya. Buses typically run every 30 minutes, and the fare is approximately 50 LKR. Once you arrive in Gavaragiriya, you can either walk (approximately 20 minutes) or hire a tuk-tuk (costing around 300 LKR) to take you directly to Pahiyangala. The tuk-tuk ride will be faster and more convenient, especially in the heat.
