Getting There

Walking
From the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, head east towards the main road (Dambulla - Sigiriya Road). Continue walking for about 400 meters until you reach the junction with the main road. Turn right onto the Dambulla - Sigiriya Road and walk for approximately 1 kilometer. As you walk, keep an eye out for local signposts directing you to the Summer Palace. After about 1 kilometer, you will come to a small dirt road on your left. Turn left here and follow the dirt road for about 500 meters until you reach the Summer Palace.

Bicycle
If you have rented a bicycle, start from the Sigiriya village area. Cycle east towards the Dambulla - Sigiriya Road and then take a right turn onto the main road. Continue cycling straight for about 1 kilometer, keeping an eye out for the signposts to the Summer Palace. When you reach the dirt road on your left after 1 kilometer, turn left and continue down this road for about 500 meters until you arrive at the Summer Palace.

Tuk-Tuk
For a tuk-tuk ride, find a tuk-tuk driver in Sigiriya and inform them you want to go to the Summer Palace. The drivers are generally familiar with the location. The journey should take around 10-15 minutes. They will drop you off at the entrance or as close as possible to the Summer Palace, which will allow you to walk the remaining distance if necessary.
