Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards Nilaveli Main Beach from Trincomalee Town. Start on the A15 highway, which connects Trincomalee to Nilaveli. Drive approximately 12 kilometers (about 30 minutes) on the A15. Look for signs indicating Nilaveli Beach as you approach. Upon reaching Nilaveli, turn onto the road leading to the beach area. The beach is located at M5VV+HR8, Nilaveli, which will be on your left-hand side. There is usually free parking available near the beach.
Public Transportation
To reach Nilaveli Main Beach via public transportation, you can take a bus from Trincomalee Town. Head to the main bus station in Trincomalee and look for buses heading to Nilaveli; they run frequently throughout the day. The fare is typically around 50-100 LKR (Sri Lankan Rupees). The bus ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Nilaveli, you may need to walk about 1 kilometer to reach the beach area located at M5VV+HR8. Alternatively, you could take a tuk-tuk from the bus drop-off point directly to the beach for a small fee, usually around 200-300 LKR.
Tuk-Tuk
If you prefer, you can hire a tuk-tuk for a more comfortable and direct journey. From Trincomalee Town, you can negotiate a fare with a tuk-tuk driver. The cost may range from 800 to 1200 LKR for a one-way trip, depending on your negotiating skills and the driver. The ride will take about 30 minutes. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your journey.
