Car
If you are driving a car, head towards Trincomalee town center. From there, follow the signs towards Uppuveli Beach, which is located approximately 6 kilometers northeast of the town center. Take the Main Street (A15) and continue straight. You will pass several local shops and eateries. After about 4 kilometers, turn right onto Uppuveli Road. Continue on this road for another 2 kilometers until you reach Uppuveli Beach. There is ample parking available near the beach, and no additional costs are incurred for parking.
Public Transportation (Bus)
For those using public transportation, you can catch a local bus from Trincomalee bus station to Uppuveli. Look for buses heading towards Uppuveli or the beaches; they frequently run throughout the day. The fare is quite affordable, usually around 50-100 LKR (Sri Lankan Rupees). The journey takes approximately 20 minutes. Once you arrive at the Uppuveli bus stop, the beach is a short walk away, following the signs or asking locals for directions.
Tuk-Tuk
An alternative is to take a tuk-tuk from Trincomalee to Uppuveli Beach. You can easily find tuk-tuks near hotels or in the town center. Negotiate the fare beforehand; it should typically range from 300 to 500 LKR depending on your starting point and the time of day. The ride takes about 15 minutes, and your driver will drop you off at the beach entrance.
