Walking
If you are in the center of Trincomalee, head south towards the main road (Main Street). Walk along Main Street until you reach the intersection with Vilgam Vihara Road. Turn left onto Vilgam Vihara Road. Continue walking straight for about 2 kilometers. The Velgam Vehera Buddhist Temple will be on your right. Look for the temple entrance, which is marked by a large gate and some beautiful greenery surrounding the area.
Tuk-Tuk
Find a nearby tuk-tuk stand or flag down a tuk-tuk on the street. Inform the driver that you want to go to Velgam Vehera Buddhist Temple on Vilgam Vihara Road. The ride should take around 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at the temple entrance, which is well-known among locals.
Bicycle
If you have rented a bicycle, start from the center of Trincomalee and head south towards Main Street. Turn left onto Main Street and continue until you reach Vilgam Vihara Road. Turn left onto Vilgam Vihara Road and cycle straight for about 2 kilometers. You will see the Velgam Vehera Buddhist Temple on your right. There is a parking area nearby where you can leave your bicycle.
