Getting there

Car

If you're traveling by car, start from Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. Take the E03 highway towards Kandy. After approximately 30 km, take the exit towards Avissawella. Continue on the A4 road for about 25 km until you reach the town of Avissawella. From Avissawella, follow the signs to Labugama. You will take the B294 road leading to Labugama village, which is around 10 km away. The last few kilometers will require navigating through some narrower roads, so be cautious. Once you arrive at the marked location (R5RM+8F6), you can park your vehicle and proceed to the falls.

Public Transportation

To reach Labugama Falls using public transportation, start at the Colombo Fort bus station. Board a bus heading to Avissawella. The journey will take about 1-1.5 hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Avissawella, you will need to take a local bus or a three-wheeler (tuk-tuk) to Labugama. Local buses may take you to the village; otherwise, negotiate a fare with a tuk-tuk driver. The distance from Avissawella to Labugama is about 10 km, and this leg of the journey will cost approximately 200-300 LKR. Once you reach Labugama (R5RM+8F6), you can begin your trek to the falls.

Combination of Car and Trekking

For those who want a more adventurous approach, you can drive to Labugama and park your car at the village. From there, a trek is required to reach the falls.
