Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Lelydorp, head north on the main road (Henck Arronstraat) towards the Paramaribo region. Continue straight for about 5 kilometers until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto the Zanderij-Paramaribo road (also known as the N1). Walk for another 10 kilometers following the road signs toward Paramaribo. As you approach Paramaribo, keep an eye out for signs directing you to the waterfront area. Once you reach the waterfront (Waterkant), Fort Zeelandia will be located directly along the water, on your left. The entrance is marked with visible signage.

  • Public Transport

    From Lelydorp, walk to the nearest bus stop and catch a minibus (commonly referred to as a 'bus') heading to Paramaribo. The fare is inexpensive, and the journey will take approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. Inform the driver you are going to Fort Zeelandia or ask them to drop you off at the Waterkant area. Once you disembark, walk towards the waterfront, and Fort Zeelandia will be located along the water to your left.
