Potatoes have been cultivated on these lands for over 56 years, a tradition upheld by the Bolinder family across four generations. Today, Magnus Bolinder oversees the potato and grain farming on the fertile Närkeslätten plain. The shop specializes in a wide variety of spuds, from fresh summer potatoes available July to September, to storage varieties like King Edward—ideal for creamy mash due to its floury texture—and gourmet options such as Jazzy and Melody, perfect for versatile cooking.

Seasonal Bounty and Delicacies

Beyond potatoes and carrots from the farm, the shelves brim with locally sourced eggs, flour, honey, onions, juices, jams, cider, ice cream, candies, and seasonal vegetables. Grill charcoal and chips cater to outdoor gatherings. In summer, visitors can pick sunflowers straight from the fields; come winter, the shop transforms into a holiday haven with newly felled Christmas trees, wreaths, oat sheaves, and bird feed to sustain wildlife through the cold months.

Family Enterprise Roots

Matilda Bolinder, at just 20 years old, launched the gårdsbutik on October 10, 2020, starting with the family's own potatoes to share their harvest directly with the community. Now managed by the fourth and fifth generations, the operation blends agriculture with retail, fostering a connection between producers and buyers on the open plains outside Odensbacken.

Practical Farm Services

In addition to retail, the farm offers stall rentals with spacious pastures for horses, storage for caravans, cars, or similar vehicles, and even skylift hire for various needs.
