Tåkern's shallow waters, averaging just 0.8 meters deep, form a vast, nutrient-rich haven that draws thousands of birds year-round. This Ramsar wetland site spans 45 square kilometers of lake surface encircled by 15 square kilometers of Europe's largest continuous reed beds, creating an unparalleled habitat.
