Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start by getting onto the E4 highway. From Stockholm, take the E4 northward and continue until you reach the junction with the E20. Merge onto the E20 and follow the signs for Borlänge. Once in Borlänge, take the exit for Road 70 towards Dala-Järna. Continue on Road 70 until you reach Dala-Järna. In Dala-Järna, look for signs directing you to Unnamed Road. Drive along Unnamed Road for a short distance, and Sälgbergsgrottan will be on your left. Note that parking may be limited, so look for designated areas to park your vehicle.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a train from Stockholm Central Station to Borlänge. The journey typically takes about 2 hours. Once in Borlänge, you can catch a bus to Dala-Järna. Check the local bus schedule for the latest timings, as they may vary. Upon arriving in Dala-Järna, you will need to walk or take a taxi to Unnamed Road. The walk is approximately 2 kilometers, so be prepared for a short hike. If you prefer not to walk, taxis are available near the bus station.

• Biking

  If you are adventurous and would like to bike to Sälgbergsgrottan, consider renting a bike in Borlänge. Follow the same route to Dala-Järna via Road 70. Once you reach Dala-Järna, carefully navigate through the local roads towards Unnamed Road. The total biking distance from Borlänge is roughly 25 kilometers, so ensure you are adequately prepared for the journey. Bring water and snacks, as amenities may be limited along the way.
