From Örebro, take the E20 highway towards Hallsberg, then merge onto the E4 towards Jönköping. Continue on the E4 until you reach the exit for Vetlanda (road 30). Follow road 30 into Vetlanda. Once in Vetlanda, navigate towards the address 574 40 Vetlanda. The Stora Illharjen nature preserve is located just a short drive from the city center. Look for signs pointing towards nature trails or parks.

To reach Stora Illharjen using public transportation, start by taking a train from a major city in Svealand, such as Stockholm or Uppsala, to Vetlanda. Trains run regularly, and you can check schedules on the Swedish Railways (SJ) website. Once you arrive at Vetlanda station, you can take a local bus (Bus Line 3) towards the center of Vetlanda, and get off at the stop named 'Vetlanda Centrum'. From there, it is a short walk to Stora Illharjen. Follow the signs to the nature preserve or use a map application on your phone for directions.
