In spring and after heavy rain the volume swells and the cascade becomes a thunderous, misty display; in late summer the flow slackens and reveals bands of stone that visitors can approach closely.

A cluster of marked footpaths radiates from the waterfall, offering short family walks and a longer, more varied route that follows the Halgå valley for several kilometres. Trail choices commonly include an easy 1 km loop, a 2 km family‑friendly circuit through mixed forest, and a near 7 km route that climbs and descends to give vantage points over the river and surrounding farmland. Surfaces range from compact earth to exposed rock and tree roots; some sections are uneven but not technically difficult.
