Engsö Slott: A Majestic Castle Experience

Getting There

• Public Transport

  Start at Västerås Centralstation (the main train station). From there, take bus number 1 towards 'Skälby', and get off at the stop called 'Skälby Kyrka'. This journey will take around 15 minutes. Once you get off the bus, head northeast on Skälbyvägen for about 1 kilometer until you reach the junction with Engsövägen. Turn right onto Engsövägen and continue for another 1.5 kilometers. You will see signs pointing towards Ängsö Slott. The castle should be visible as you approach.

• Bicycle

  Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Västerås. From the city center, head towards the Västerås Marina and follow the path along the waterfront. Keep going until you reach the bridge over the river, then take a left onto the path leading to Engsövägen. Continue straight for about 3 kilometers, enjoying the scenic views along the way. You will eventually arrive at Ängsö Slott, which is located just off the road.

• Walking

  If you prefer to walk, start at the Västerås Centralstation. Walk east towards the city center and follow Stora Gatan until you reach the park area. From there, navigate to the main road (Engsövägen). It’s about a 6-kilometer walk, which will take approximately 1.5 hours. Follow Engsövägen, and you will eventually arrive at Ängsö Slott, which is conveniently marked with signs along the route.
