If you're traveling by car, start from Umeå, the largest city in Västerbotten. Take the E4 highway north towards Skellefteå. Continue on the E4 for approximately 170 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 363. Take Route 363 towards Bjurholm and follow it for about 30 kilometers. Then, merge onto Route 90 towards Krokom. After approximately 40 kilometers, take the exit onto Route 340 towards Klimpfjäll. Follow the signs for Vildmarksvägen (Wild Mountain Road), which will lead you directly to Stekenjokk. The total driving distance is around 240 kilometers and will take approximately 3 hours. Be aware that fuel stations can be sparse; fill up before you leave Umeå.

Once you arrive in Östersund, switch to a bus heading towards Klimpfjäll. This route is less frequent; check the schedule in advance, as it may only run a few times a day. The bus ride from Östersund to Klimpfjäll takes about 2 hours. When you arrive in Klimpfjäll, you will need to arrange for a taxi or shuttle service to take you the remaining 30 kilometers to Stekenjokk, which may incur additional costs.
