If you're driving from the central part of Västergötland, take the E4 highway towards Jönköping. Continue on E4 until you reach the exit for Gränna (Road 195). Follow the signs to Gränna and once in the town, look for signs directing you to the ferry terminal. The ferry to Visingsö departs from Gränna harbor. The ferry ride takes about 30 minutes, and there is a cost of approximately 90 SEK for a car and 50 SEK per person. Once you arrive on Visingsö, follow the signs to Näs Castle, which is about a 10-minute drive from the ferry terminal.
Public Transportation
To reach Näs Castle using public transportation, take a train from Gothenburg or another city in Västergötland to Jönköping. Once in Jönköping, take a local bus to Gränna. From Gränna, walk to the ferry terminal (it’s about a 10-minute walk). Board the ferry to Visingsö; the ferry ride costs around 50 SEK per person. After arriving on Visingsö, you can either walk or take a local taxi service to Näs Castle, which is approximately 5 km away from the ferry dock.
