Universeum is organised as a sequence of distinct but connected environments: a steamy tropical rainforest with live animals, a deep blue ocean zone with large tanks, workshop labs for experiments and a large visualisation dome for planetarium‑style shows. Each floor feels like a different destination, but the building’s layout encourages movement between habitats, exhibits and activity spaces, so a single visit reads like a short expedition through ecosystems and technologies.

Live animals are central: small primates, reptiles, tropical birds and invertebrates share dynamically maintained enclosures, while the aquarium brings you face to face with sharks, rays and schooling fish. Touch tanks and supervised handling sessions are built into the flow so that sensory learning — the smell of humid soil in the rainforest, the cool hush near the big tanks, the slick feel of a ray’s skin under careful guidance — is part of the experience.

Interactive learning takes shape in chemistry and maker labs where scheduled demos and drop‑in experiments encourage trial and error. Exhibits range from simple physics puzzles for younger visitors to challenges that test coding, logic and problem solving for older children and adults. The emphasis is on doing: exhibits are designed so you can touch, move and test, not merely observe.

Wisdome, a large 360° domed theatre inside the complex, projects starfields, space journeys and abstract visualisations across a curved screen. Shows blend scientific narrative with cinematic visuals and are aimed at creating a sense of scale and wonder — from local ecosystems to cosmic perspectives — using sound and light to heighten atmosphere.

Beyond entertainment, Universeum presents science through the lens of sustainability and stewardship. Exhibits and programming often highlight environmental challenges and practical solutions, making the centre a platform for public education.
