From Appenzell, drive north on Hauptstrasse (Route 4) towards Schwende. After approximately 5 km, follow the signs for Ebenalp and Äscher. Take the left turn onto the road leading to the Ebenalp cable car station. There is a parking area near the cable car station, where you can park your car (note: there may be a parking fee). From the cable car station, take the cable car to the Ebenalp mountain station. The ride takes about 5 minutes and offers stunning views. Once you arrive at the top, follow the marked hiking trail towards Wildkirchli, which takes about 30 minutes on foot.
