Car
From Appenzell, drive north on Hauptstrasse (Route 4) towards Schwende. After approximately 5 km, follow the signs for Ebenalp and Äscher. Take the left turn onto the road leading to the Ebenalp cable car station. There is a parking area near the cable car station, where you can park your car (note: there may be a parking fee). From the cable car station, take the cable car to the Ebenalp mountain station. The ride takes about 5 minutes and offers stunning views. Once you arrive at the top, follow the marked hiking trail towards Wildkirchli, which takes about 30 minutes on foot.

Public Transportation
From Appenzell, take the bus number 12 towards Schwende, which departs from Appenzell Bahnhof. The bus ride takes about 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Ebenalp' bus stop. From there, follow the signs to the Ebenalp cable car station. Purchase a ticket for the cable car to Ebenalp mountain station (the round-trip ticket costs around CHF 20). The cable car ride takes about 5 minutes. Once at the top, follow the hiking trail towards Wildkirchli, which is approximately a 30-minute hike.
