Getting there

Car

From Appenzell, drive towards Schwende. Follow the signs for Ebenalp and Wildkirchli. The drive is approximately 15 minutes. Park at the designated parking area near the cable car station. Note that parking fees may apply (around CHF 5-10). Once parked, take the Ebenalp cable car to the top (ticket cost approximately CHF 15-20 one way).

Public Transportation

From Appenzell train station, take bus number 21 towards Schwende. Get off at the 'Ebenalp' stop (approximately a 25-minute ride). From the bus stop, walk to the Ebenalp cable car station (about a 10-minute walk). Purchase a ticket for the cable car (cost around CHF 15-20 one way) and ride it to the top. After disembarking, follow the marked hiking trails to Wildkirchli, which is a short walk away.

Hiking

If you're feeling adventurous, you can hike to Wildkirchli from Appenzell. Start from the center of Appenzell and follow signs towards Ebenalp. The hike takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and is moderately challenging. Be sure to wear suitable hiking shoes and bring water. The scenic views along the trail are breathtaking, making it a rewarding experience.
