From the center of Ascona, walk towards the lakeside promenade (Lungolago). Head southeast along Via Borgo until you reach the lake. Continue walking along the lakeside promenade in the direction of the nearby town of Locarno. Follow the path along the water for about 2.5 kilometers. You will start to see signs directing you towards Menaggio. Once you reach the ferry terminal, you can take a ferry directly to Menaggio, which is a scenic and enjoyable ride.
