Getting There

• Bus

  From the center of Ascona, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located on Via delle Scuole. Look for the bus stop marked 'Ascona, Piazza'. Take the PostBus line heading towards Airolo. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Airolo' stop. From there, follow signs to Passo del S. Gottardo, which is a short 15-minute walk uphill. You'll see the beautiful mountain scenery as you approach your destination.

• Train

  Walk to the Ascona train station located on Via San Giovanni. Once at the station, take the train heading towards Bellinzona. After about 20 minutes, transfer at the Bellinzona station to a train going to Airolo. The train journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Airolo, exit the station and follow the signs for Passo del S. Gottardo, which is about a 15-minute walk uphill.

• Walking

  If you're feeling adventurous and want to hike, start from the center of Ascona and follow the marked trails leading towards Airolo. It’s a scenic route, but expect a hike of about 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. The trail will lead you through beautiful landscapes and offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
