Walking
If you are in the center of Ascona, start at the Piazza Giuseppe Motta, which is a prominent square near the lakeside. From there, head south towards the promenade along Lake Maggiore. Continue walking along the lakefront until you reach the ferry terminal. From the ferry terminal, board a ferry to Stresa. The ferry ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes, and you will enjoy scenic views of the lake. Once you arrive at the Stresa ferry terminal, exit the terminal and walk north along the waterfront promenade. After about 10 minutes, you will reach Piazzale Lido directly along the lake.

From Ascona, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is 'Ascona, Piazza G. Motta'. Take bus number 1 towards 'Stresa'. The bus journey will take around 30 minutes, and the buses run frequently. After arriving in Stresa, get off at the 'Stresa' bus station. From the bus station, walk north towards the waterfront. Continue walking straight for about 10 minutes along the promenade until you reach Piazzale Lido.
