Walking
From the center of Ascona, head towards the lakeshore promenade. Walk along the promenade in the direction of Locarno until you reach the ferry terminal. Take a ferry to Orta San Giulio, which is located on Lake Orta. Once you arrive at the Orta San Giulio ferry terminal, exit the terminal and walk towards the main square. Piazza Mario Motta will be straight ahead after a short walk.
Public Transport
Begin at the main bus stop in Ascona. Take bus line 1 towards Locarno. Get off at the Locarno train station. From there, catch a train to Omegna, and then transfer to a local bus heading to Orta San Giulio. The bus will drop you off near the town center. From the bus stop, walk straight to Piazza Mario Motta, which is a prominent square in the area.
