Train
From Basel SBB train station, take a direct train to Solothurn. Look for the trains heading towards 'Bern' or 'Zofingen'. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at Solothurn train station, exit the station and follow the signs to the city center (Zentrum). It’s a pleasant 10-minute walk straight down the main road, where you'll find signs directing you to Gurzelngasse.
Bus
From Basel, you can take bus line 36 from 'Basel, Bahnhof SBB' to 'Basel, Dreispitz'. At Dreispitz, transfer to bus line 34 towards 'Solothurn'. The total travel time is around 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you reach Solothurn, get off at the stop 'Solothurn, Stadt'. From there, it’s about a 5-minute walk to Gurzelngasse 11. Head east on 'St. Ursenstrasse', turn left onto 'Gurzelngasse', and your destination will be on the right.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local bike rental services in Basel. Head southeast towards the 'Rhein' river and follow the cycling path along the river towards Solothurn. The journey is approximately 25 km and will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you reach Solothurn, follow the signs to the city center and then to Gurzelngasse 11.
Walking
Although it is quite far to walk from Basel to Solothurn, if you are feeling adventurous and wish to enjoy a long scenic walk, you can follow the 'Rhein' river path towards Solothurn. It’s a distance of about 25 km and will take you around 5 to 6 hours. Upon reaching Solothurn, navigate to Gurzelngasse 11 by heading towards the city center.
