Train
From Bern's main train station (Bern Bahnhof), take a train towards Interlaken Ost. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Interlaken Ost, follow the signs to the exit. Head straight down the main street, Höheweg, for approximately 800 meters until you reach the intersection with Schlossstrasse. Turn left onto Schlossstrasse, and you will find the Japanischer Garten on your right at Schlossstrasse 1.
Bus
From Bern, you can also take a bus to Interlaken. Head to the bus terminal near Bern Bahnhof and look for a bus heading towards Interlaken. The bus ride will take approximately 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at the Interlaken bus station, exit and walk towards Höheweg. Continue straight for about 600 meters until you reach the intersection with Schlossstrasse. Turn left onto Schlossstrasse, and the Japanischer Garten will be on your right at Schlossstrasse 1.
Bike
If you're up for an adventure, you can rent a bike in Bern and ride to Interlaken. Start by heading southwest from the city center, following the Aare river towards Wabern. Continue along the bike paths that lead you through beautiful countryside. The total distance is about 60 kilometers, and it will take approximately 3-4 hours, depending on your pace. Once you reach Interlaken, follow local signs to Schlossstrasse, and the Japanischer Garten will be on your right at Schlossstrasse 1.
Walking
Walking from Bern to Interlaken is quite a long journey, approximately 60 kilometers, and is not recommended unless you are an avid hiker. However, if you choose this option, start from the Bern city center, heading southwest towards Wabern, and then follow the Aare river. The walk will take around 12-15 hours. Once you arrive in Interlaken, navigate to Schlossstrasse, and you will find the Japanischer Garten at Schlossstrasse 1.
