Train
To reach the Observatorium Gornergrat, start by taking the train to Zermatt. From Zermatt, you will need to catch the Gornergrat Railway (Gornergrat Bahn) at the Gornergrat Bahn station located near the center of Zermatt. The train ride offers stunning views of the mountains and will take you directly to the Gornergrat station. The fare for a return ticket from Zermatt to Gornergrat is approximately CHF 92 for adults and CHF 46 for children. Please check the schedule for train times, as they vary throughout the day.

If you are driving, you can reach Zermatt by car, but note that Zermatt is a car-free village. You will need to park your car at one of the nearby parking facilities in Tasch (the last point you can drive to) and take a shuttle train from Tasch to Zermatt, which takes about 12 minutes. Once in Zermatt, follow the directions provided above to the Gornergrat Railway. Parking in Tasch may incur a fee, generally around CHF 15-20 per day.
