Getting There

  • Train

    From Grindelwald train station, take the train towards Kleine Scheidegg. The train ride will take approximately 30 minutes, and you will enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Disembark at the Kleine Scheidegg station.

  • Hiking

    After arriving at Kleine Scheidegg, follow the signs for the Eiger Trail. The trailhead is clearly marked and begins near the train station. The Eiger Trail is approximately 6 kilometers long and will take you directly alongside the Eiger mountain, offering breathtaking views. The trail is well-maintained, and you can expect to spend around 2 to 3 hours hiking to reach the endpoint at Alpiglen.

  • Return Journey

    To return to Grindelwald, you can either hike back the same way or take the train from Alpiglen back to Grindelwald. If you choose to hike back, follow the same Eiger Trail path. If you prefer to take the train, head to the Alpiglen station, and board the train back to Grindelwald, which will take about 20 minutes.
