Train and Ferry
From Grindelwald, take the train to Brienz. You can catch a train from Grindelwald Bahnhof (Train Station) towards Interlaken Ost. At Interlaken Ost, change trains to the Brienz-bound train. Once you arrive at Brienz Bahnhof, exit the train station and head towards the lake. From there, you can take the Giessbachbahn (cogwheel railway) that will take you directly to the Giessbach Waterfalls. The cogwheel railway station is located near the Brienz lakefront.
Bus
From Grindelwald, you can also take a bus to Brienz. Head to the Grindelwald Bus Station and take the bus towards Interlaken. At Interlaken, you will need to transfer to another bus heading to Brienz. Once you arrive in Brienz, follow the signs to the Giessbachbahn (cogwheel railway), which is located near the lake. Take the cogwheel railway up to the waterfalls.
Walking and Hiking
If you're feeling adventurous and up for a hike, you can walk from Brienz to Giessbach Waterfalls. After arriving in Brienz by train or bus, walk towards the lake and follow the path that leads to the Giessbach Waterfalls. It is about a 2-hour hike, and you will enjoy beautiful views along the way. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water with you.
