Getting There

  • Car

    From Gstaad, head southeast on Route 11 towards Château de Gruyères. Continue straight for approximately 25 kilometers. Follow the signs for Gruyères, which will direct you to Route 12. Once in Gruyères, follow the signs to Rue du Château. There is a parking area near the castle, but please note there may be a parking fee of around CHF 5-10 for the day.

  • Public Transportation - Train

    From Gstaad railway station, take a train towards Montreux via Zweisimmen. Change trains at Bulle and transfer to the train heading to Gruyères. The total journey will take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once you arrive at the Gruyères station, it is a 20-minute walk to Château de Gruyères. Follow the signs leading you uphill towards the castle, or you can catch a local bus (line 1) from the station that goes directly to the castle entrance.

  • Public Transportation - Bus

    From Gstaad, take PostBus line 230 towards Château-d'Oex. At Château-d'Oex, transfer to PostBus line 244 towards Gruyères. This journey takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Gruyères' stop, and from there, it's a short 10-minute walk to Château de Gruyères, following the signs that guide you to the castle.
