Begin your journey at Interlaken Ost train station. Purchase a ticket to Reichenbach im Kandertal, ensuring to check the time schedule for trains heading towards Brienz or Meiringen. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Reichenbach im Kandertal station, exit the station and follow the signs towards the Niesenbahn funicular railway station, which is about a 5-minute walk from the train station. Follow the road uphill, and you will see the funicular station ahead.

From Interlaken, head to the Interlaken Ost bus station. Look for the bus line that goes to Reichenbach im Kandertal. Buses are frequent and the journey takes about 20-25 minutes. After arriving at the Reichenbach im Kandertal bus stop, walk towards the Niesenbahn funicular railway station, which is just a short 5-minute walk uphill. Follow the signs to reach the station where you can take the funicular to the summit of Niesen.

Start at Interlaken Ost and make your way towards the village of Wilderswil, then continue towards the valley. The hike will take around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace.
