Getting There

• Train

  From Lausanne Gare (the main train station), take a train heading towards Vallorbe. Make sure to check the schedule as trains may not run frequently. Get off at the 'La Cluse-et-Mijoux' station. Once you exit the station, head west on Route du Château. The Château de Joux is approximately a 30-minute walk from the station, following the signs or using a map app.

• Bus

  From the city center of Lausanne, walk to the bus stop at 'Lausanne Gare'. Take bus line 21 towards 'Lausanne, Gare' and transfer to bus line 703 at 'Lausanne, Gare' towards 'La Cluse'. Get off at 'La Cluse-et-Mijoux, Château'. From the bus stop, follow the road for about 10 minutes to reach Château de Joux.

• Bicycle

  For a more active option, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Lausanne. Head northeast towards Route de Genève (Route 1) and follow the cycle path that leads towards 'La Cluse-et-Mijoux'. The journey is about 20 km and will take roughly 1.5 hours. Enjoy the scenic views along the way, and once you reach the area, follow the signs to Château de Joux.

• Walking

  If you are feeling adventurous and want to enjoy the scenery, you can walk from Lausanne to Château de Joux, though it is quite a long journey (around 20 km). Start from the city center, heading north towards Route de Genève and then follow the signs towards 'La Cluse'. This walk will take approximately 4-5 hours. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water and snacks.
