Car
To reach Morteratsch Glacier from Lenzerheide by car, start by heading east on the main road (Route 3) towards Chur. After about 22 km, merge onto Route 29 towards St. Moritz. Continue on Route 29 for approximately 30 km until you reach Pontresina. Once in Pontresina, follow the signs for Morteratsch Glacier. Look for the parking area at the glacier station, where you can park your car and start your hike to the glacier.
Public Transportation
To visit Morteratsch Glacier using public transportation, begin at the Lenzerheide bus stop. Take the PostBus (Route 900) towards St. Moritz. The ride will take around 30-40 minutes. You will need to transfer at the St. Moritz train station to the Bernina Express train, which goes to Pontresina. Once you arrive at Pontresina, exit the train and follow the signs to the Morteratsch Glacier. It’s about a 30-minute walk from the train station to the glacier itself, with clear paths leading the way.
