Walking
From the center of Locarno, head towards the lakeside promenade. Start at Piazza Grande, which is a popular square and easy to find. Walk straight down Via C. Ghiringhelli until you reach the lakefront. Once you arrive at the promenade, turn right and continue walking along the waterfront. You will pass several cafes and shops as you go. After about 15-20 minutes of walking, you will reach Lake Maggiore, where you can enjoy stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

If you prefer public transport, go to the nearest bus stop to Piazza Grande. Take bus number 1 towards 'Muralto' and get off at the 'Lido' stop. From there, follow the signs towards the lake, which is just a short walk away. The bus ride takes about 10 minutes and the lake will be a short 5-minute walk from the bus stop.

If you want to cycle, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops near Piazza Grande. Head towards the lakeside promenade and follow the bike path along the lake.
