Getting There

Bus

From Locarno's main bus station (Stazione FFS), board the bus number 5 towards 'Piazza Grande'. After about 10 minutes, get off at the stop 'Piazza Grande'. From there, transfer to bus number 10 towards 'Menaggio'. This bus will take you closer to the border of Italy. After approximately 30 minutes, alight at the stop 'Lezzeno'. From Lezzeno, you will need to walk uphill for about 15-20 minutes to reach Monte San Primo. Follow the signs to the mountain trail.
Train and Bus

Start at Locarno train station (Stazione FFS). Take the train to 'Lugano', which takes about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Lugano, transfer to the bus station adjacent to the train station. From there, board bus number 5 towards 'Menaggio'. Get off at the 'Lezzeno' stop, which should take around 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Lezzeno, follow the signs to start your hike up to Monte San Primo, which will take about 20-30 minutes.
Walking

If you are already in Lezzeno, walk towards the main road that leads up to the mountain. Follow signs directing you to Monte San Primo. The walk is about 4 kilometers and will take around 1 hour. The path is well-marked, and you will enjoy beautiful views of Lake Como along the way. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes for the hike.
