Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the Locarno train station, exit the station and head southeast on Via della Stazione. Follow this street until you reach the intersection with Via Cattori. Turn left onto Via Cattori and continue straight. This road will lead you to the waterfront of Lake Maggiore. Once you reach the lake, you can enjoy a scenic walk along the promenade. Continue walking along the lakeside until you reach Piazza Grande. From Piazza Grande, follow the signs towards the funicular station and take a ride up to Orselina. After arriving at the top, exit the funicular and walk towards the main road. Follow the signs to Naggio, which is approximately a 30-minute walk downhill through the beautiful scenery.

Public Transport
From Locarno train station, take bus number 2 towards Cardada. The bus will take you past scenic views and drop you off at the Cardada cable car station. From there, take the cable car up to Cardada and enjoy the breathtaking views of the region. After enjoying the lookout, take the same cable car back down and catch bus number 2 again, this time towards Naggio. Get off at the Naggio stop, and you'll be just a short walk away from Piazza Maggiore.

If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the local shops in Locarno. Start from the Locarno train station and head towards the lakeside promenade. Follow the bike path along the lake towards the town of Ascona. Continue on the cycle path that leads toward the hills until you reach Naggio. The ride will take you through beautiful landscapes, and upon arrival in Naggio, you will find signs directing you to Piazza Maggiore.
