The Enchanting Brunnen mit Güggeli: A Hidden Gem in Lucerne

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the Lucerne train station (Bahnhof Luzern), exit the station and walk straight towards the lake (Vierwaldstättersee). Once you reach the lakefront, head right along the promenade. Continue walking along the lake until you reach the famous Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke). Cross the bridge and walk towards the old town. Keep following the signs towards the Old Town (Altstadt) and once you reach Weinmarkt square, take the first right onto Werchlaubengässli. Continue walking for about 200 meters and you will find Brunnen mit Güggeli at Werchlaubengässli 3.

• Public Transport

  From the Lucerne train station, take bus number 1 or 2 from the bus terminal located just outside the station. Get off at the 'Hirschmatt' stop. From there, walk towards the direction of the bus route for about 300 meters until you reach Werchlaubengässli. Turn left onto Werchlaubengässli and continue walking for a short distance until you arrive at Brunnen mit Güggeli, located at number 3.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to cycle, rent a bike from one of the rental stations near the train station. Head towards the lake, then follow the promenade to the Chapel Bridge. After crossing the bridge, continue cycling through the Old Town, following the bike paths. Once you reach the intersection near Weinmarkt square, take a left onto Werchlaubengässli. After a short ride, you will arrive at Brunnen mit Güggeli located at Werchlaubengässli 3.
