Getting There

  • Train

    Start at Lucerne's main train station (Luzern Bahnhof). Purchase a train ticket to Engelberg from the ticket machines or the ticket counter inside the station. Trains to Engelberg run regularly and the journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Engelberg station, exit the station and head straight towards the main road (Dorfstrasse).

  • Walking

    From Engelberg train station, walk along Dorfstrasse towards the center of town. After about 5 minutes, you will reach the intersection with Klosterstrasse. Turn left onto Klosterstrasse, and continue walking for another 2 minutes. Engelberg Abbey (Benediktinerkloster) will be on your right at Benediktinerkloster 1.

  • Bus

    If you prefer, from Engelberg train station, you can take the local bus (Bus line 1) towards 'Kloster Engelberg'. The bus stop is located just outside the station. The bus ride to the Engelberg Abbey stop takes about 2 minutes. Once you get off at the Kloster Engelberg stop, you will be right in front of the Abbey.
