Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from the Lucerne train station (Bahnhof Luzern), exit the station and head towards the lakefront. Walk along the lake promenade towards the Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke). Once you reach the Chapel Bridge, continue straight ahead along the lakeside path. After approximately 10 minutes of walking, you will see a path leading up to the Lion Monument. Follow the path, which will lead you directly to the monument located at Denkmalstrasse 4.

  • Public Transport (Bus)

    From Lucerne train station, you can take bus number 1 or 2. Board the bus at the bus stop located just outside the station. The bus will take you to the 'Denkmal' stop, which is the closest stop to the Lion Monument. The ride takes about 5 minutes. Once you get off at 'Denkmal', walk a short distance up Denkmalstrasse, and you will arrive at the Lion Monument.

  • Boat

    You can also reach the Lion Monument via a scenic boat ride. Board a boat from the Lucerne pier (located near the train station) and take a cruise on Lake Lucerne.
