From Lugano, head to the Lugano train station (Stazione di Lugano). You can walk there from the city center, it's around a 10-minute walk. Once at the station, purchase a ticket to Baveno. You will need to change trains at Domodossola, so look for the train that goes to Domodossola. The journey will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. When you arrive at Domodossola, transfer to a train heading towards Stresa. This leg of the trip will take about 30 minutes. Once you reach Stresa, exit the train and look for the local bus service or a taxi to take you to Baveno, which is just a short distance away.

Bus
From Lugano, you can also take a bus to Baveno. Start at the Lugano bus station (Autostazione di Lugano), which is near the train station. Look for a bus that goes towards Stresa. The bus journey will take approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Stresa, you can easily find a local bus or a taxi to take you to Baveno, which is only about 5 kilometers away.

For a scenic route, consider taking a ferry from Lugano to Baveno. Start at the Lugano ferry terminal (Imbarcadero di Lugano), located on the shores of Lake Lugano. Buy a ticket for a ferry that goes towards Stresa. The ferry ride will take about 1 hour. Once you reach the Stresa ferry terminal, you can either take a local bus or a taxi to reach Baveno, which is just a short distance from Stresa.
