Getting There
Bus
From the center of Lugano, walk to the Lugano Railway Station. Once there, look for the bus terminal adjacent to the station. Take bus number 11 towards 'Verzasca'. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Verzasca, Ponte dei Salti'. From the bus stop, walk about 15 minutes in the direction of the Verzasca River. You will see signs directing you to La Froda waterfall. Follow the path along the river, and you will find the stunning waterfall.
Train and Bus
Start at Lugano Railway Station and take a train towards 'Locarno'. The train journey will take around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Locarno, exit the train and head to the bus terminal located right next to the train station. Take bus number 11 towards 'Verzasca'. The bus ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Get off at the 'Verzasca, Ponte dei Salti' stop. From there, walk about 15 minutes following the signs to La Froda waterfall.
Walking and Hiking
If you enjoy hiking and are feeling adventurous, you can hike from Lugano to Verzasca. Start at Parco Ciani in Lugano and follow the trail marking towards 'Verscio'. The hike will take approximately 3-4 hours, and you will enjoy beautiful views along the way. Once you arrive in Verzasca, follow the signs to La Froda waterfall which is a short walk from the main road.
