Getting There

Walking
If you are starting in the center of Lugano, head towards the lakefront. From Piazza della Riforma, walk down Via Nassa towards the lake. Once you reach the lake, turn right and follow the promenade along the water. Keep walking until you see the funicular station for the funicular to Monte Brè. Instead of taking the funicular, continue on the path along the lake until you reach the small village of Gandria. The walk will take about 30-40 minutes. Once in Gandria, follow the signs for Sentiero dell'olivo which will lead you to the trailhead.

From the main railway station (Lugano Stazione), take bus number 2 towards 'Gandria'. The bus ride takes about 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Gandria' stop. From there, you will see signs leading you to Sentiero dell'olivo. The trail is a short walk from the bus stop.
