Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the city center of Neuchâtel. Head southeast on Rue de la Serre towards Rue du Héron. Continue onto Rue des Moulins, then turn left onto Rue de la Cité. Follow the signs for Route de la Côte and merge onto Route de Neuchâtel (A5) heading towards Fribourg. Take exit 16-Neuchâtel and follow signs for Route de la Côte (Chem. du Pertuis-du-Sault) towards Rocher de l’Ermitage. After approximately 10 minutes, you will reach your destination at Chem. du Pertuis-du-Sault, 2000 Neuchâtel. There is no parking fee but be mindful of local parking regulations.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, start at the Neuchâtel train station (Gare de Neuchâtel). Take bus line 5 (direction Les Hauts de la Cité) from the bus stop located right outside the station. Ride the bus for about 10 minutes, and get off at the stop 'Pertuis-du-Sault'. From there, it is a short 10-minute walk to Rocher de l’Ermitage. Simply head southwest on Chem. du Pertuis-du-Sault. Please ensure you check the local bus schedule for the most accurate timing, and note that a single ticket costs around CHF 3.50.
Walking
If you prefer to walk and are located in the city center, start at Place Pury. Walk along Rue des Moulins, then turn onto Rue de la Cité. Continue to follow the signs towards Route de Neuchâtel. It will take approximately 45 minutes to reach Rocher de l’Ermitage on foot. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the path can be uneven in some areas. The distance is approximately 3.5 km.
