Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from Thun's main train station (Bahnhof Thun), exit the station and head towards the main road, Bahnhofstrasse. Walk straight along Bahnhofstrasse for approximately 400 meters until you reach the junction with Aarestrasse. Turn left onto Aarestrasse, which will lead you towards the river. Continue walking for about 300 meters until you see the beautiful Aare River on your left. At this point, you will find a pathway along the riverbank. Follow this pathway, enjoying the scenic views of the river and the mountains. After about 600 meters, you will arrive at Rathausquai. The Rathausquai Aussichtspunkt will be located directly along the waterfront, where you will have a fantastic view of the Thun Castle and the old town.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  From Thun's main train station (Bahnhof Thun), take bus number 21 or 22 towards Thun, Zentrumsplatz. Board the bus and travel for two stops, approximately 5 minutes. Get off at the stop called Zentrumsplatz. From Zentrumsplatz, walk towards the river, heading down the street called Marktgasse until you reach Rathausquai. This walk will take about 5 minutes. Once you arrive at Rathausquai, the Rathausquai Aussichtspunkt will be right along the waterfront, providing stunning views.

• Biking

  If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops near the train station. Start by heading down Bahnhofstrasse towards Aarestrasse. Once you reach Aarestrasse, turn left and follow it along the river. The bike path will be well-marked, and you will have a smooth ride along the riverbank. Continue for about 1 kilometer until you reach Rathausquai, where you will find the Rathausquai Aussichtspunkt. There are bike racks available for parking your bicycle.
