Bus
From the center of Thun, head to the bus station located at Thun Bahnhof. Take the bus number 21 towards 'Stechelberg'. The journey will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Stechelberg stop, look for signs directing you to the Schilthornbahn. It's a short walk of about 10-15 minutes from the bus stop to the Schilthornbahn AG station located at Lengwald 301.
Train and Bus
Begin your journey at Thun Bahnhof (train station). Take a train towards Interlaken Ost and get off at Lauterbrunnen station. From Lauterbrunnen, switch to bus number 141 to Stechelberg. This combined trip will take around 1.5 hours. Once you reach Stechelberg, follow the signs to the Schilthornbahn AG, which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.
Walking and Hiking
If you’re feeling adventurous and want to hike, you can take a scenic route from Thun to Stechelberg. Start from Thun and follow the hiking trails towards the Lauterbrunnen valley. This route is approximately 20 km and can take around 5-6 hours depending on your pace. Once you reach Stechelberg, head to the Schilthornbahn AG at Lengwald 301.
