Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from Thun's main train station (Bahnhof Thun), exit the station and head north toward the city center. Walk straight along Bahnhofstrasse until you reach the first intersection. Turn left onto Spitalstrasse and continue walking until you reach the Zähringerbrücke (Zähringer Bridge). Cross the bridge and take the path on your right, which leads you along the Aare River. Follow the river until you see signs indicating the path to Thun Castle. The path will take you uphill through the old town, and you will eventually arrive at Schlossberg, where Thun Castle is located. The walk should take approximately 20-30 minutes.

From Thun's main train station (Bahnhof Thun), take bus number 21 or 22 towards 'Schwarzsee' or 'Aarebrücke'. Get off at the 'Schloss' stop, which is the closest stop to Thun Castle. From there, it is a short walk to the entrance of the castle. Follow the signs indicating the direction of Schlossberg, and you will find the castle in just a few minutes. The bus ride takes about 10 minutes.
