Car
If you're driving, head towards Zermatt. Note that Zermatt is a car-free village, so you will need to park your car in Täsch (approximately 5 km from Zermatt). Follow signs to the Matterhorn Terminal Täsch and park there. From Täsch, take the regular shuttle trains (every 20 minutes) to Zermatt, which takes about 12 minutes. Once in Zermatt, head to the Gornergrat Bahn station located in the city center (a short walk from the train station).
Public Transportation
If you're using public transportation from other parts of Valais, take a train to Zermatt. The closest major train station is Visp, where you can catch a direct train to Zermatt (approximately 1 hour). Upon arrival at Zermatt train station, navigate to the Gornergrat Bahn station, which is within walking distance from the train station. Look for signs pointing toward the Gornergrat Bahn.

Once you reach the Gornergrat Bahn station in Zermatt, purchase your ticket for the train to the Gornergrat Observation Platform. The round trip ticket costs around CHF 90 for adults and CHF 45 for children. The train ride takes about 33 minutes and provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains, including the iconic Matterhorn. The train runs frequently, so check the schedule for the next departure.
