Getting There

Train
From Lugano, head to the Lugano train station (Stazione di Lugano). You can walk to the station from the city center, which takes about 10 minutes. Once at the station, purchase a ticket to Orta San Giulio. Board the train towards Domodossola. After about 30 minutes, change trains at the Stresa station. From Stresa, take the train to Orta Miasino. This part of the journey will take roughly 15 minutes. Once you arrive at Orta Miasino, exit the train station and follow the signs to the ferry terminal. Take a ferry from Orta Miasino to Orta San Giulio. The ferry ride will give you stunning views of Lake Orta and takes about 10 minutes.

Bus and Ferry
From Lugano, walk to the nearby bus stop and take bus number 30 towards Ponte Tresa. Ride for about 20 minutes until you reach the Ponte Tresa terminal. From there, transfer to a bus that heads to Orta San Giulio. The bus ride will take approximately 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Orta San Giulio, follow the signs to the town center and the beautiful lakefront area.
