Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards Sion, the capital of the Valais region. Use the A9 motorway and take the exit for Sion. Follow the signs for the city center (Centre Ville). Once you are in Sion, navigate to Pl. de la Majorie. The Valais Art Museum is located at Pl. de la Majorie 15, 1950 Sion. There is limited street parking available, so be prepared to find a nearby parking lot or garage. Please note that parking fees may apply.
Train
For those using public transportation, take a train to Sion from other major cities in Switzerland. The Sion train station is well connected and is just a short distance from the museum. Upon arrival at Sion station, exit and follow the signs to the bus terminal. You can take bus line 1 or 2 towards ‘Sion, Châteauneuf’ and get off at ‘Sion, Pl. des Fêtes’. From there, it’s a 10-minute walk to the museum. Head southeast on Avenue de la Gare, turn left onto Rue de la Majorie, and continue until you reach Pl. de la Majorie 15.
Bus
If you are already in the Valais region and prefer bus transportation, check the local bus schedules that service Sion. You can take the regional buses that connect smaller towns to Sion. Make sure to get off at the Sion central bus station, which is close to the train station. From there, follow the walking directions mentioned above to reach the Valais Art Museum.
Walking
Once you arrive in Sion, whether by car or public transport, the Valais Art Museum is easily accessible on foot if you are staying nearby. Simply walk to Pl. de la Majorie 15. The area is pedestrian-friendly, and you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings as you make your way to the museum.
