Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from major cities like Geneva or Lausanne. Take the A1 motorway towards Bern. When you reach Bern, switch to the A6 motorway towards Spiez. Continue on the A6 until you reach the junction for the A8 towards Interlaken. Follow the signs for Brig on the A9. Once you reach Brig, take the exit towards Visp. From Visp, follow the signs for Bettmeralp which will lead you to the valley station of the Bettmeralp cable car. Parking is available in the village of Betten, where you can park your car and take the cable car up to Bettmeralp. Note that parking fees may apply.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Bettmeralp via public transport, start your journey at the main train station in your current location, such as Geneva or Lausanne. Take a train to Brig, which is a key transit hub. From Brig, transfer to the local train to Visp. Upon arriving in Visp, follow the signs to the bus station where you can catch a bus to Betten. The bus ride is quite scenic and takes approximately 20 minutes. Once you arrive in Betten, you will need to take the cable car up to Bettmeralp. The cable car operates frequently, but check the schedule in advance to avoid long waits. A combined train and cable car ticket can often be purchased at the train station, which may save you some money.

• Cable Car

  After arriving at Betten, the cable car to Bettmeralp is your final step. Purchase a ticket for the cable car at the valley station. The cable car ride takes about 15 minutes and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Make sure to check the operating times of the cable car, especially during off-peak seasons, as they may vary.
