Best Bars near The Rubinstein Windows

AQUA - Lake Zurich is a waterfront lounge bar on Wädenswil’s Seestrasse, built for evening drinks, food, hookah, and terrace time by the lake. It feels more polished than casual, with a compact indoor lounge and a lake-view setting that draws couples, small groups, and event crowds. Expect a late start, a social pace, and the strongest atmosphere after dark, especially at weekends.

Lago Lounge is a casual lakefront bar inside Marina Lachen, where the day can begin with coffee and croissants and end with aperitifs, cocktails, and DJ nights. The setting is compact and polished, with harbor views rather than big panoramas, and the mood shifts with the weather: quiet on weekday mornings, busier at sunset and on warm weekends. It suits short stops, relaxed apéro sessions, and easygoing evenings by the water.

Drink Zone is a compact cocktail bar on the Marina Lachen waterfront, where the draw is the harbour setting as much as the drinks. Expect an easygoing, adult-leaning stop for aperitifs, nightcaps, and late-evening socialising beside boats and promenade lights. It is small, contemporary, and best used as part of a longer marina evening rather than a destination in itself.

Big Ben Pub brings a compact slice of Britain to Oberrieden, a lakeside commuter village south of Zurich. Inside, the mood is informal and sports-led: televised matches, single malts, Swiss craft beers, and a straightforward bar setup rather than a dining room. It suits an easy drink stop before or after a train ride, with the lake nearby but not in view.

EXIT Shisha Lounge is an indoor shisha bar in Baar, set in a commercial part of town rather than a nightlife district. It is built for seated evenings: hookah, drinks, conversation, and a slow pace that stretches from late afternoon into the night. Expect a compact lounge atmosphere, strongest on weekends, with the usual smoke-filled caveat for non-smokers.

Kalorien is a small bar in Zug’s Eichwald district, geared to casual drinks rather than a full night out. Expect an urban street setting, a local crowd, and an unhurried stop that works best in the evening. It is practical rather than polished, with the feel of a place people drop into for one drink and stay if the mood fits.

Anstatthotel Zug is a serviced apartment property on Baarerstrasse, set up for independent stays rather than hotel-style lingering. Expect contactless check-in, compact modern rooms with kitchens, laundry facilities, parking behind the building, and a roof terrace with views toward Lake Zug and the Rigi. It suits business trips, longer stays, and travellers who prefer privacy and routine over service.

Hotel Zugertor is a compact 3-star hotel on Baarerstrasse in central Zug, with 36 rooms, an on-site restaurant-bar, meeting space and an unusual 1960s bowling alley. It has operated since 1897 and feels more practical than polished: a quiet, urban base for business stays, short leisure breaks and overnight stops. Parking, EV charging and pet-friendly rooms add to its appeal.

City Garden Hotel is a polished 4-star stay in central Zug, set just a short walk from the railway station and beside a nature reserve. It suits business trips, brief city breaks, and travellers who want a calm, contemporary base rather than a full-service resort. Expect wood-led design, a sustainability focus, and an easy link to the lake and old town.

Eleven 11 is a compact cocktail bar and lounge on Baarerstrasse in central Zug, a short walk from the station. It is built for after-work drinks, dates, and small gatherings rather than long nights out. Expect a relaxed indoor setting, a social mix of locals and expats, and a menu focused on cocktails and spirits.
