This is an easy place to reach on foot from Zürich HB or the Bahnhofstrasse area, and public transport stops are close by. There is no dedicated visitor infrastructure on the lane itself, so restrooms, seating, food and shelter are found in the surrounding district rather than on the street. The best visits are in dry daylight, when the façades read clearly and the lane’s narrow proportions are easiest to appreciate. Rain, snow and winter cold do not close the street, but they do make it less comfortable for lingering. Allow 10 to 20 minutes for a quick pass-through, or up to an hour if you are building a longer old-town walk around it.
